Yeah I don’t think it is ready for prime time at all. I love the thinking behind it, and I think there is some strong institutional backing, so I am willing to wait for it to develop. Not sure I can contribute much tho

I am on it… can’t say that I actually use it… I can’t find anyone else on it. Very early days. I have been following the project a bit since learning about it from Ethan Zuckerman.

I used Roam for a while, but prefer having my notes privately to myself. Obsidian is working out so far, tho there are some things I miss about Roam. Since there is no Obsidian app for mobile yet, I am using 1Writer to access my zettelkasten remotely. It works pretty decently.

Ooooh Paperpile is new to me. Thanks for sharing.
Right now I am using Obsidian for my zettelkasten stored on Dropbox, accessing via 1Writer on the iPad/iPhone, and looking for a x-platform alternative to Zotero for papers. I use @ulyssesapp for writing.

If you are interested in inaka, and not specifically islands, there are many program to get kids out into rural areas.
My advice for either mainland or island study programs, is find a place you want to go, and then ask them if there are any such programs in that area. 👌
