Wow I was just detoured around that at Predator Ridge on my way to Vernon from Kelowna. I didn’t see the fire at the turn off, but sure could smell it as we drove the backroads.

On the very first trip I’ve learned so many practical EV lessons — all at once! Charging in the rain 🌧 how often chargers break 🔌when you can’t trust the charging apps 🥸when an EV will die ☠️ using an EV to boost another EV ✨ and more! 🥳 What adventure! 😄

CURRENT STATUS: Well off our route returning the new electric car home due to a massive 5hr blackout knocking out all the stations on the highway, and then a huge thunderstorm! Now hiding out in a hotel. Will be home tomorrow.
Much more to this story, will write about it! ✍️

Nice. I lived in Coquitlam, three different apartments in the West End over the years, then in Richmond near Lansdowne when I returned in 2010 with a family. We were lucky to be by the Skytrain, but living close to downtown is the best — if you can afford it! 🤑

I have been car free forever, and I swore I would never own an ICE vehicle. But we have moved to a place where that is no longer tenable unfortunately. Lucky that EV infra is getting pretty convenient

That’s impressive. Way back like 20 years ago do you remember when there was summer with a garbage strike AND a transit strike like back to back? I had to ride my bike from my apartment in the West End to UBC a few days of the week… that was hard enough never mind walking!

I hear ya. But the very easy permissions levels makes it invaluable to me. I can auto share to Friends, Family, or the Public AND also override any of those privacy settings with Guest Passes on individual photos. It allows me to have all my pics and AUDIENCES in one place

I deleted it after the FB acquisition too.
I still STILL have an active Flickr account (with over 10K images on it). Every year I look for an alternative, but still haven’t been able to move to something I trust will be around for a while.

Agree. I love this technique and am definitely going to try it out. Also, it has been over 40 degrees here for like the last week, so I am doubly looking forward to rain! 😅

It is so nice that my wife went back this morning to have a walk through!
It is also nice considering it is only 23 degrees there, when it was 45 degrees in Kelowna where we were a couple of days ago.

The teahouse Ichibo-an is really nice, and was rebuilt with the backing of the previous Iemoto of Urasenke. It has a proper tea garden with a waiting area and moon viewing area. Many years ago I attended a tea gathering here as part of one of my classes at university. 2/4

Some scenes from this afternoon’s visit to Nitobe Memorial Garden. This is a very well kept Japanese garden that even the previous emperor has visited. It is an interesting mix of Japanese and Canadian foliage. Nitobe died in Victoria in 1933. 1/4
