I had to fly to the Nagasaki Prefectural police office in Omura… they don’t do new licenses on 離島
And the worst thing is it was June so they flight got cancelled due to bad weather (the planes are quite small on and off Iki)

That’s been on my list for a while. Thanks for further validation.
I read this one last fall and similarly think it should be widely read by every American (and anyone who thinks their country should be like America) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43523310

Really appreciate this thread and your honesty. I have been mulling a PhD, and there are a lot of questions for someone later in life. My kids will be teens when I start, and I am not likely to find TT if I am a fresh PhD starting in my 50s. Everyone has different variables.

It’s the only Ghibli my kids haven’t watched yet. My oldest is 12 and I feel like she will soon be ready. She’s a bit sensitive so…
When we were at 小学校 in 長崎県 the 平和教育 there was hardcore. I feel like those kids could watch it at a much younger age.

Thank you for the recommendation. Since I have Sōmatome already (back in Kyoto) I might pick up these to give it a try.

Thanks. I looked at a bunch of reviews and ended up going with the Sōmatome because of the pacing: just 2 pages a day. Do the Kanzens have a schedule? They sounded more comprehensive but I don’t have 4 hours a day for study

The video ends with Luang Por Sona walking back to his kuti gives a sense of how well he has done to bring the Thai Forest tradition to the North. #buddhism

I used to live on a ground floor apartment just off Imadegawa beside 同志社女子校。Really love that area. Good 商店街, close to downtown, and the river and 下鴨神社 and 御所 for nice walks.
