Ah yes. He had a lot of impressive building projects in the backyard. I met him once while visiting Saga. Super laid back dude. Hope all is okay and hope to see him again.

My first exposure to Persian/Arabic calligraphy was when I was in northern Iran, on the coast of the Caspian. A friend introduced me to a calligrapher who showed me some basics, and put it in the comparative context of Japanese calligraphy which was cool https://chadkohalyk.com/2016/08/02/minimalist-wall-hangings/

I find this kind of calligraphy very beautiful, even if I can’t read it. I am a typeface nerd from way back, and of course am familiar with ๆธ้. Read this article from @BaytAlFann showing more of @snasernia’s work. Just look at the creativity! https://www.baytalfann.com/post/deconstructing-calligraphy-sasan-nasernia

Just last month I was at the hot springs in western Japan, stripped down and put everything in the locker, walked into the public bathing area past all these men bathing themselves, sat down in front of a mirror only realize Iโd forgotten to take off my mask. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
