I think we are largely in agreement. My point is just not to forget the other labourers that have seen flat wages while tech incomes ballooned (granted that era may be over). More of an addendum than an argument. 😁

Obviously, you have to be part of a firm that has a mix of people (not just a small team of engineers) to see the difference. It also depends on size of firm. Locally I have seen the exact same person be paid $120K then $60K when jumping to a smaller firm.

Other people in the office like PMs, journalists or writers, and even middle managers. I do not compare them to lawyers or doctors, and I am mostly thinking of people in the early stages of their career, say less than 5 years.
