Pretty superb football weekend.

Good point. But most histories of Southeast Asia I have found spend a lot of time on the upper half of the peninsula. I guess a more regional approach is all I can hope for. Or maybe look for a cultural/ethnic history of Malay peoples?

I think services should be more proactive in notifying users when content is leaving the platform: eg. if you already have the item downloaded or it is queued up in a playlist. Surely the sense of urgency would increase engagement! So why not? Lack of time? Infra?

Always frustrating when a media subscription service loses rights. I was on the plane to Mumbai reading a book on Indian business culture. During layover in Hong Kong Safari Books called home and removed the book! 😡 Similarly, Crunchyroll killed a show I was halfway thru.

That’s the plane to YVR. Currently in Hong Kong. Really beautiful new airport. Last time I visited in HK in ‘94 we used the crazy city airport. Lantau was under construction at the time.

In the Delhi Airport. A couple more hours to boarding. 5 hours to HK, more than a dozen to YVR, then on to YLW for about 9am Saturday morning PST.

Staying in a very nice hotel. Was surprised when we pulled into the front parking lot and had to pop the hood and trunk for a security check. Also had to run all my baggage through X-ray and get wanded before entering the hotel. The echos of https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008_Mumbai_attacks
